Allyson Felix — a performance every bit as impressive as Bolt’s

LONDON — David Rudisha provided the signature moment of the track and field meet at these Olympic Games.

Usain Bolt rocked the house.

But Allyson Felix turned in a performance every bit as impressive as Bolt’s, and if that sounds grandiose — facts are facts. He will be leaving London with three gold medals and a world record. So will she.

    Thank you. David Rudisha’s performance was THE highlight on the track, even ahead of Bolt in my humble opinion. Sprinters have to run fast. Middle and long distance do not. Yet Rudisha chose to challenge the other 7 men to a game of ‘catch me if you can’ and dragged them all to their own personal best times. The 8th place finisher was fast enough to have won Gold in the past 3 Olympics. Amazing.
